Synergy
Network ( The GlobalVillages Schools ) is looking for
tele-workers
to set-up and maintain private research reports. The
work
involves doing web search journalism from remote sites.
Editors
stay current in their field or subjects of interest and
earn
some cash while working on the updates.
The example is http://www.wiredbrain.com/sample.htm
The
SYNERGY is what subscribers get:

Hi there,
Brendy: I have just May 1, 1997 updated the index page ( http://www.wiredbrain.com/ ) to include AI
I created a topic on Excite (advances in Artificial Intelligence), and added a page (intelligent living systems) to your example.htm page.
My page http://www.cs.brandeis.edu/~brendy/life_sys.html should fit in well with your autopoesis and DISSIPATIVE systems info.
> I have added this to weblife.html and living.htm
I
still don't understand how the pages work.
see whole list on geocities site - the Excite search (above) is really
GREAT - someone must have read the material and made little summaries for
the search...
Synergy: either do I - it's work in progress They (hopefully will take shape by people using them )
Because so many people add to them its very hard to follow. Maybe it would be easier if you had an information page which outlined what contributors can do. e.g. do I just maintain my page, or do you want me to write updates (e.g. news reports), on things going on in my field, and post them somewhere? (I'd be quite happy to).
>YES,
but look at the examples - you can include the search engines
use "wiredbrain" right in
your update page. This makes it possible to do three things:
1.) A general background with the IMPORTANT references ( on line and not ) a fairly fixed features. ( sample.htm try's to do this, I am sure you can do better, for communications technology ) sample.htm and edu.htm
2.)
search engines
use "wiredbrain" - current updates all done up - like nt_excite.htm
Live_topics.htm
( and html ). I think examples explain better than instructions. ( BE CREATIVE
)
3.) up dates as of NOW as the excite IA does - or by the key words being in the search engine pages - all you have to do is enter for current updates.
Also, what is the relationship between Excite's news topics, and your pages? Do I make links from excite to your page or something?
The linkgoes from your topic page to excite and AltaVista or any other search engine. REMEMBER the idea is that you are a guide - a great reference librarian, who give service - here is what you need to know as background, if you already know that, here is some new stuff, if you are already up to that, take a looks as see is there is anything Really new in the last few weeks or days or hours.
I'm sorry if these are all basic questions. Its no good you having to personally answer all of these queries - if you have an FAQ please let me know!
Best
regards,
Brendan
1.)
Add topic in the box for Excite topics on the index page. ( note some new
topics
added by visitors)
2.)
Add topic in the example.htm page FTP instructions on the page (then let
me
know
so I can update index.htm page)
2.)
write a topic home page from AltaVista like living.htm
or weblife.html with
inserts
or invent your own methods ( you can copy htlm codes ) notice <Base
href=
at the top makes the page work which means all other links have to be
complete
href=" or image =
If
you have done anything let me know so I can update other links > We have
a high hit rate so it's getting attention - we need a critical mass
before
we can charge fees !
SEE
the technology working on EXCITE and AltaVista: below under Internet Applications,
then set up your own page on your own site in your own way. ( if you don't
have a site use GeoCities ) we will link up the pages. When we
have
critical mass we will charge fees of $5.00 a month, the
editor
gets $4.00, x 100 x 1000 adds up.

I like to use EXCITE to start - for Synergy Bunch Personal Search Page(sometimes) pointcast, see
http://www.wiredbrain.com/nt_excite.html
and a number of key word
searches
and from AltaVista, LIVE_TOPICS
works. Read the "updates.htm"
information on all three levels current news, web pages background and
theory to tie it all together. A Journal includes searches in live.excite.com,
plus enews, inews, etc. POINTCAST, and a dozen or more search engines
use "wiredbrain" using
different key words. Then I block and paste to SAMPLE
giving the reference and hyperlinks.
