RE:
The Force Vital:
This morning in class we stretched. With the feet firmly on the
ground and we bend back in a smooth arch until it vibrates in the
middle of your body. This is called charging.
Then a few deep
breaths emptying the bottom of the lungs. Let the head hang down
- this is the discharge. Life is and energy field and we need to
be grounded and aligned, we find our center of our being, we then
begin to pay attention. Toning is nice, ancient chants are back.
Then I played Yoga Shalom's - Love - the light and the vital
force.
They liked it. Everyone became calmer and more focused.
The rest of the class (on social studies) went great. It seem
obvious that first we must pay attention.
Then we can focus on
the task at hand.
There is so much noise.
Jane Healy write in Endangered Minds (1990) that habits and
experience when young effect in very basic ways the structure of
the brain. Edward O. Wilson in Social-biology describes as groves
-pathways - which have evolved in structure of brain of our
species. Reason, logic and language are connected. TV may
scramble the neurology.
The ability to follow a thought a set of
steps or activities with a clearly perceived or imaged goal
requires some brain structure. English and science teaches seem
to notice the problems with rational thought.
There has been a
cult explosion - psychics, sorcerers, UFO,s, strange conspiracies
(Mr. Foster killed himself) - reminds me of the History of the
Seneca - When the European invasion caused death and destruction
of their culture - the old system no longer protected them -
their was a outbreak of Ghost Cults - Westerner thought that
Indians were weird. What they saw was a great and historic
culture in distress. Schools need to have structured practice at
mind management as they do in sports.
